Re: Institute of Biblical Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University

This evening, there will be a gala event at the Roman amphitheatre at Beth Guvrin, in which the campaign to found an Institute of Biblical Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University will be inaugarated. There are plans to raise ca. $50 million dollars for this project, and hopefully, within the next 5 years this will be a reality. For those interested, there will be live web-tv broadcast of the event, which can be seen on the French language news page about Israel "Guysen" - go to this webpage and click on the advertisement on the right side.

And by the way - anybody who is interested in donating to this project, please do contact me … :-)

A brief write-up on the establishment of Bar Ilan’s Biblical Archaeology institute appeared in the Jerusalem Post. Aren was quoted, and photos of some of the pottery from Safi were featured — in all a nice touch. Congratulations Aren and fellow colleagues at Bar Ilan. It’s a privelege to work with you all.

Aren, can you post a direct link (if it’s still available) to the video taken from the french site? thanks,
Gal

Gal,
From what I can see, a short snippet of the musical performance at the event can now be seen on http://www.guysen.tv/ - click on: Minijournal du 06/06/2006.
