Among the various things that we uncovered today:
1) The Sheffield group, led by Diana Edelman, is digging the 9th cent (Hazael) destruction level with some very nice finds.
2) In both Area P and E, two different fragments of very nice LB plaque figurines were found.
3) Area F is excavating both the 8th cent. destruction level (including a beautiful “kitchen” with a large grinding stone and pithos filled with grain), as well as what appears to be the 9th cent. destruction level.
4) In other areas we are uncovering EB III, LB II, Iron I and Iron IIA and IIB.
Although several digs who have had to stop have contacted us to see whether we can take some of the volunteers, unfortunately, we are completely full. We are, altogether about 130 people (!!!) for the next few weeks.
