Just a quick update on some of the finds from the dig from the last few days.
In Area F, near the summit of the tell, Jeff and his team are uncovering some very nice finds, including: portions of a very well preserved Iron IIB (8th cent.) house with remains of grinding stones, a pithos filled with grain and many vessels; remains of the 9th cent. destruction level with many finds; various LB II finds, including a very nice NK scarab.
In Area A we have found additional remains of the 9th cent destruction with many in situ finds; an interesting deposit of articulated sheep/goat bones right next to what seems to be an olive press; a very special pise wall, lined with slabs of chalk.
In Area E they are excavation LB and EB III remains, including some very interesting intallations, most possibly for agricultural production.
In Area P they are still mostly in surface material, although a nice collection of various finds has surfaced.
In general, this season has been rich in various finds, in particular various figurines. In the list few days we have discovered a unique figurine of a pair of horses, apparently originally attached to a chariot (from the Iron I); several fragments of LB plaque figurines; a seated Isis/Horus figurine; etc.
All told – things are going very well!

You must be setting some kind of record in terms of amount of material found in the shortest period of time. I’m envious of those participating in all this.
