The 2009 season at Tell es-Safi/Gath will be from July 5th to July 31st, 2009. As in previous seasons, I have no doubt that we will have a fantastic season with great finds.
As in the past, the season will include a rich program for the volunteers, and two academic field schools – one in field archaeology and the other in archaeological science.

Dear all,
At long last, the DVD with a collection of scores and scores of excellent pictures on all aspects related to the dig this year, and two really nice Powerpoint presentations on the 2008 season (and Safi in general) is almost ready, after having being masterfully prepared by Richard Wiskin, our photographer (thanks Richard!!!). I will be sending out the DVD to all those that ordered it as soon as I return from the ASOR meeting (after Nov. 25th). I do apologize for the delay, but as you will see when it arrives, it will be well worth the wait.
And by the way – anyone who wants to order the DVD (whether a Safiite or not), is welcome to do so. If you are interested, please send a check for US$15 to me, made out to “The Israel Exploration Society” along with the exact address to which you would like it sent.
