Today, the media is awash (for example, here and here) with reports about some very interesting stone zoomorphic figurines from the excavations of the Neolithic site of Motza, near Jerusalem. Definitely very cool stuff.
Needless to say, this immediately reminded me of the stone figurine (apparently of a dog, from what Liora Horwitz says) which was found this year (2012) in Area D in the 9th cent. destruction level and was already noted here. Although different periods and cultures – very interesting similarity!
