Today, I was at the Weizmann Institute for some meetings and got to see the new D-REAMS accelerator (AMS) which was just installed and is now going through trial runs. This moves 14C analyses in Israel to another level! The AMS is part of the new Max Planck – Weizmann Institute of Science Center in the Field of Integrative Archaeology and Anthropology (see here as well) and is directed by Dr. Elisabeta Boaretto.

Looks like a very useful instrument. Especially if you can get data much quicker than having to send it away somewhere out of the country.
