I would like to note that the newest volume of the final reports on the excavations at Tel Timnah (Batash), directed by Ami Mazar has just appeared (edited by Nava Panitz-Cohen and Ami Mazar). The volume deals with finds from the MBII and LB periods at the site. This is the final volume on the excavations and summarizes one of the most important excavations conducted in the Israel in recent years. It is particularly relevant for our excavations at Tell es-Safi/Gath, since the site is located just ca. 15 km NE of Tell es-Safi, and provides important comparanda for the MBII and LB finds from Tell es-Safi/Gath.
For example, the LB “Patrician House” from LB Batash is very similar to the large LB building that has been exposed in the recent seasons in Area E at Tell es-Safi/Gath.
