Congratulations to Udi Weiss, our archaeobotanist, on the publication of his book “Domestication of Plants in the Old World: The origin and spread of domesticated plants in Southwest Asia, Europe, and the Mediterranean Basin” (OUP 2012) which is the new, revised and updated edition of the classical work by D. Zohary and the late M. Hopf.
In addition to updating many aspects relating to archaeological finds since the previous edition, it is in many ways a completely new study as it incorporates new vistas gained through recent advances in moleuclar biology and genetic studies.
This volume will undoubtedly be a standard reference book for years to come in the study of one of the most important stages in global human history.
Mabruk to Udi!!!
