Shira and the Aegean-style cooking jug

As you may recall, last week I mentioned that we identified a fragment of an Aegean-style torch that was found a few years ago in Area F. Due to this very interesting piece, we immediately pulled-out all the finds from its context (which dates to the early Iron Age I) from Area F. This included various interesting ceramic and other finds, including an almost complete Aegean-style cooking jug, typical of the early Philistine culture (see here).

Since Dina, our pottery restorer, has gone back to Italy for a few months, and some of the vessels had to be restored, Shira Kisos decided to give it a shot.

So here you can see a very proud Shira holding the almost completely restored cooking jug!

I thought this had been restored long ago. But if you are all gonna have this kind of fun without me there, I’m gonna have to plan something drastic. :)
