Great finds at Tel Burna!

The excavations at Tel Burna, which have been going now for two weeks, have been turning up some really fantastic stuff. It seems that Itzik, Joe, Amit, Debi, Chris and all the team (including a bunch of the ADAR foundation fellows who many of whom will also be working at Safi) are having a great season at this astonishingly productive site!

Take a look at their blog – cool stuff!

AREN, THANK YOU FOR THIS MOST EXCELLENT POST ON TEL BURNA! WOW! SO MANY WONDERFUL FINDS AND LOCATIONS UNCOVERED! I CAN CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND THE EXCITEMENT AND ENTHUSIASM OF THE TEAM MEMBERS AT ALL THE SITES. THE THRILL OF DISCOVERY IS LIKE NOTHING ELSE. WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I LIVED IN AN AREA RICH IN NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY, AND THE VERY FIRST VILLAGE SITE I UNCOVERED GAVE ME AN IMMENSE THRILL, NOT TO MENTION MANY STONE TOOLS AND ARROWHEADS AND BEADS. IN A PERIOD OF 14 YEARS I UNCOVERED 11 SITES ALL RICH IN FINDS AND HISTORIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE AREA. I GET A THRILL VIEWING YOUR POSTS AND PHOTOS. TO “STEP BACK IN TIME” THROUGH EXPLORING AND FINDING IS OF MONUMENTAL IMPORTANCE TO ALL OF US, NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. CONTINUE TO GO FORTH AND SEEK!
