Workshop on Macalister’s work in Palestine – tomorrow at the Albright

As mentioned before (but note that the correct date is Dec. 13th, 2013), tomorrow afternoon there is a very interesting mini-conference at the Albright Institute in Jerusalem on the work of R.E.S. Macalister in Palestine in the late 19th and early 20th cent. CE. Various talks will be presented on his work at different sites in Israel, including a talk by Rona Avissar-Lewis and yours truly, comparing Bliss and Macalister’s excavations at Tell es-Safi/Gath in 1899 and the results of the current excavations.
