Great day at the tell!

Yesterday, J Rosenberg (team architect) and I drove out for a few hours of work on the tell. For an article that is about to be submitted on the EB fortifications at Tell es-Safi/Gath, we needed to measure and photograph some features on the tell.

We had a great day!

First of all – we were overly successful in measuring and photographing – and in fact even found (based on a very astute observation by Haskel!) what appears to be an additional section of the EB wall – based on what seems to be another inset/offset section – similar to those seen in other well-dated sections of the EB fortifications!

In addition – it was quite beautiful. The weather was great (sunny but not too hot) and since it had rained quite a lot just a few days before, the tell was all green – and clean from dust!
