Working away on the new MOOC on Jerusalem

As previously noted, I working on a new MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on ancient Jerusalem, which should be ready in early 2024. Due to the huge success of my previous MOOC on Biblical Archaeology (with over 10,000 students having taken the course!), we are working very vigorously and with high motivation on the new MOOC, with a great production team from BIU (and other professionals).

We are having great time working on the course and I’m learning a lot of new things about Jerusalem as we prepare the course. This is going to be a great course – and a lot of fun!

See below a short clip summarizing a site location scouting that we did in Jerusalem, along with Dr. Joe Uziel who is my partner in the MOOC.

And yesterday, I interviewed Profs. Andrea Berlin and Jodi Magness at Tel Aviv University, on aspects relating to the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Periods in Jerusalem. See below a photo of me and Jodi during our interview.

  1. Aren, from CARO (and Canada) congratulations. If your new work on Jerusalem is anything like your MOOC on Biblical Archeology, it will be a big success and will build greater awareness of the region and the importance of collaboration vis-a-vis our shared human record. Please keep me in mind for any volunteer collaboration this fall, when I will be in the middle east.
